This year, the Hope in Motion 5K aims to raise $50,000 to support two vital initiatives: Operation Rose and Sexual Assault Center. Your participation and donations will have a tangible impact, providing crucial resources and support to those in desperate need.
How Your Support Makes a Difference:
- Operation Rose - Empowering Survivors Exiting Exploitation:
- 500 Emergency Bags: Each bag, carefully assembled by Operation Rose, contains essential items such as clothes, gift cards, a journal, and other emergency supplies. These bags are a lifeline for survivors transitioning out of exploitation, offering them immediate support and a sense of dignity and hope as they start their journey to recovery.
- Sexual Assault Center's SAFE Clinic - Facilitating Justice and Healing:
- 16 Forensic Exams (Rape Kits): The SAFE Clinic provides trauma-informed care through forensic exams, which are a critical first step for survivors wishing to report their assault to law enforcement. These exams not only collect vital evidence but also ensure that survivors receive compassionate, professional care.
- Comprehensive Support Services: At the clinic, survivors are met by trained victim advocates who connect them with necessary services, including therapy and holistic support at the Sexual Assault Center. This comprehensive approach helps survivors navigate their healing journey, addressing their emotional, psychological, and legal needs.
